Brecknockshire, Seller c1694
These charming, crudely engraved maps were essentially reductions of Speed's maps, decorated with small title and scale cartouches.
John Seller (1660 - 1697) was appointed 'hydrographer' to Charles II and later to James II and William III. He published this attractive, small series of county maps in about 1694.
Seller is particularly noted for being the first cartographer to show longitude measured from the prime meridian of London (from 1676).
