Cumberland, Moule, 1836

Steel engraving by Thomas Moule, 1836.

Late in the reign of William IV, Thomas Moule (1754 - 1851) prepared a highly decorative set of maps of the English Counties, which were subsequently engraved on steel plates.

This was the last series of British maps to follow the tradition of decorative cartography and they make a pleasing and attractive addition to the home.
