Fencing, "The School of Fencing 17", Angelo, 1765

A fine art reproduction of a plate from Domenico Angelo's major work, printed on beautiful quality paper, with plate marks, and in stunning hand painted colour.

Originally published in 1765 by S.Hooper and drawn by A. Gwyn to illustrate Angelo's treatise 'The School of Fencing'. Angelo founded Angelo's School of Arms in Carlisle House, Soho, the first school of its kind in England, and was tutor to the royal princes.

This edition was produced in 1968 and is a numbered edition of 134/900. The illustrations are still seen as being probably the best series of instructive fencing prints produced.
